While I would love an aluminum case, I would also equally love a Vaja alternative, something similar to the iVolution for iPAQs. Anyone with me?... and if so, anyone know how to make our voice heard? Oh here's a link to the site to see examples of their work, quality stuff. [Vaja]

Is there a Vaja case that will fit the Axim? Like one for another PPC, but same size as Axim?

This is the first time I saw them, and they look pretty awesome!

I checked last week. Here's the status on Vaja for now:

---

We will be releasing a case for the Dell Axim in the future, though we do
not have a specific date at present. As soon as the case has been
released, we will let you know by e-mail.
Thank you very much for your interest in our cases

Best regards

If you want a nice hard case now.

Try one of the dozens of styles available from SmarterCase www.SmarterCase.com

The #146 Series cases are perfect for the Axim. I have mine in one of their Woods Camouflage cases!

They're made from fabric or leatherette covered steel!

Check it out!

I received the same reply from Vaja regarding the availability of their cases.
I holding out for a Vaja...for now!

I owned a Vaja case for Clie NR70V. Paid a good deal of money for it. It really isnt worth it to pay more than 100 bucks for a leather case for the Dell Axim. The Axim is is a mid range economical PPC. The extra 100 bucks spent on a Vaja case could buy you:

1) a better pocket pc
2) a 256 mb SD or CF card plus a wireless 802.11b CF card on ebay for really cheap
3) or other stuff such as software and screen protectors and real essentials. A case is essential but NOT an expensive case. I learned the hard way.

By the way, for the record, my NR70V fell out of its Vaja case onto the concrete city sidewalk and nearly broke.

Anyway the point is you will not own you Axim forever. You will upgrade to the newest hottest technology as it comes out. So whats the point of an expensive custom form-fitted case that doesnt do a hell of a good job if you wont be able to use the same case on your next PDA?

I have an Axim 400 now. I sold my NR70V to a coworker but he didnt want to pay me for the Vaja case. So now it sits here useless gathering dust as a reminder of the stupid stuff I have wasted my money on in the past and as a warning not to make the same foolish spending mistakes again

O yea the Vaja Ivolution for the IPAQ is gorgeous no doubt about it but IPAQ's are cream of the crop PPC's with bluetooth and wireless all builtin selling at a premium price while Axims are just mid range PPC's selling at midrange prices. But if you like the Vaja case that much buy it by all means.

I agree with HackMeNot, I owned a Vaja case for my Sony CLIE 760 and paid about $70 for it. I thought even that was too much to pay for a case. Are they really going for $100 now?!?! I owned lots of different cases for my CLIE including the Vaja, an E&B case, and an aluminum one. I used the aluminum case and the E&B case the most out of all of them. The Vaja case didn't offer as much protection as the other ones. I think the main reason to buy the Vaja case is for the look/style of it.

Pocket Solutions (link on Aximsite homepage) has a hardcover aluminum flip cover that attaches via industrial velcro on the back side. Anyone have one or can recommend a similar product? I'm not interested in one of the cases with a pad and pen. Only need something to protect the screen if I put Axim in my suit coat pocket....

That is almost what I am looking for. Do you know if they are working on one for the Axim for sure?

Don't forget the Vaja case is formed for the axim. so what happens when you have CF Card in the axim that is a little bigger than the slot, say GPS card or Wirelss Network, then you can't use the Vaja, damn that sucks huh?

not a big fan of vaja, same specs all the other cases (EB, Belkin, Sena...) have, but at a nice $20 markup. not worth it imo.

I contacted a rep and got the generic answer we all have seen in regards to cases for Axims- "We are currently producing a case for the Dell Axim"

I will follow up with them, cause so far I like this case.
