Has anyone heard or seen anything about the release of Thumb Board for the Axim?
Dell was advertising the Thumb Board prior to the release of the Axim, but the Thumb Board wasn't an option once the Axim's were available for purchase.
I think that it would really add to the usefulness of my Axim!

Liking this idea a lot! However, I haven't seen anything on an Axim thumb board.
If I do, I'll definitely post it.

You can get it as an accessories option when customizing a new axim. But they aren't sold seperately for some dumb reason.

A small keyboard that attaches to the bottom. You just use your thumbs to type on it. Here is a picture on Dell's site: http://www.dell.com/us/en/bsd/learnm...oard_popup.htm

I bought one of the thumb keyboards with my Axim and really like it. It takes a little getting used to but it certainly works better than trying to use the screen keyboard.

JohnnygG,
Can you easily take notes with it while at a conference, class or show, etc? I can't decide on a foldable or thumb keyboard. My primary use will be at conferences.

If it's only occasional notes, then yes. If you're constantly having to input information, then a foldable keyboard would work better.

If you get the foldable one from Dell (Foldable is a misnomer, it is telescoping), then unlike other foldables that actually fold, it is one solid piece when extended, so oyu can use it on your lap just fine, and the top folds back and makes a stand, read the review for it here at Aximsite, and all the comments/addons to know more.
If you have to carry around an extra device anyway, you might as well have one that is more comfortable and capable for large data entry in the long run, for quick notes, you're probably better off just with the software entry.

I bought one for my Handspring when I was a Palm user. I hated it. I thought it was going to be cool, but easier to just either use grafitti or hit the keyboard icon and tap it out that way.

I like it, all the Ipaq users were GREEN with ENVY when I pulled it out in the hallway to allow a PPC Noob to look at my AX.
I'll see if I can post a PIC later
Althought I dislike the addition to the programs window... it should be in settings

thumb board
Dell calls it a "snap on keyboard", which is available online when you configure your Axim for purchase. For some dumb reason, if you want to get it after your purchase, it is not available online. You have to call and order it by phone. I ordered one 7-18-03, but am still waiting for delivery.
