I have had my Ax for about a month, and so far I have used the "free" transparency based screen protector from JayTMedia:

It is free if you have some "old tech" transparency sheet lying around. I will probably go with WriteShields or the Boxwave products for the anti-glare feature eventually, but they work for now...

Their screen protectors are definately the best. Not only do they last forever, but you can clean them by simply wiping with a damp cloth. His prices are great!!!!! $12 including shipping!!!! Can you beat that?!!??! oh plus!!! there are no adhesives!!! its like magic...it just sticks like static or something...

When I recieve my Axim will it come with any screen protectors? If not is it okay to use w/o a protector until I buy some?

The Axim comes with a piece of plastic over the screen. You could use that as a screen protector in a pinch, but it will be tough using transcriber with it. Personally, I like the WriteShields, I installed them on Jan 13 and haven't gotten any scratches on them yet, even when using the stylus with transcriber and playing Cubicle Chaos.

Mine also shipped the next day, but that is misleading: it took two weeks to get from Hong Kong to here. I guess that is not unusual. I'm not complaining, mind you; it was worth the wait.
