Does anyone know when DELL will be offering the high capacity battery for the AXIM? I'm getting about 3 hours of battery life with a wireless CF card installed. I need something with a little more longevity.

if I am not mistaken there is a high capacity battery, the 3400 battery on dell.com take a look it's on sale right now at dell until thursday

Yeah - the savings might just be worth it for the external battery, unless you need the portability of having an attached battery.
I have the 3400 battery and, to be honest, the thing is somewhat cumbersome and makes my Axim look bulky and goofy looking - they could have done better with the design - but at the price of the unit, I guess I can't complain too much.

I would, however, try modifying your brightness settings and change the PowerSave mode before buying the battery right now. It's SO expensive that it just doesn't seem like a reasonable solution until it goes on sale. I just wanted a replacement MP3 player and with the performance of my iPaq 3850 (which was pathetic, barely 3 hours of low usage before the battery died) I was more focused on "better safe than sorry".
