Greetings y'all,

In my place of employment I sometimes have to use a line shooter. For those that don't know it's a device that plugs in to an ethernet jack and test the line. It'll test for collision's on the network, wire mapping, ping test and many other things.

My question is - Is there a CF card type adapter so I can use my Ax to do this. I know I could just get a CF 10/100 card and plug the cable in to that. That would get me on the network and I could ping but you can't do any wiremaps or put a tone on the line to help find the wire at the hub.

Maybe that's the answer, if I had the right software to then go out and test the line.

Any one have any ideas?

Sounds like a VERY specific piece of equipment. If thats the case, I don't see them being cheap since they would be very few made.

What is the platform now? Stand alone, Notebook PCMCIA card?

I know vxutil has various pings, ping sweep, trace route, port scan, DNS Audit, finger, get html, Host lookup, host quote, get realtime, whois, a password function (dont wanna get into that) and an IP calc.
