Just ordered a Pocketop keyboard for my Axim.
Sight unseen - in both cases. I'm not sure which
one will arrive first!

In any event, the keyboard has been highly
recommended by a colleague. Works via IR.
Folds to the size of a PDA. Comes with a
stand. Axim driver to be released this month.

Short review will be forthcoming.

I've been using mine for over a week now. I really like it. It's cosmetically the same as the Belkin foldable keyboard, so go to their site if you want to take a look at it.

It's only about an inch different in size from my laptop keyboard. The keys are responsive and it has a great touch, best thing for me, it folds small enough for me to throw in my pocketbook.

Do you recall that full sized keyboards go as low as $8, and the good ones $20 ?
I figure since the PPC units are so much lighter and smaller, they should be around $5.

Wouldn't that be nice?

However, conventional full-size keyboards have
been mass produced for decades, while folding
units for PDAs are relatively new. I'm sure prices
will drop eventually. A year ago, pundits were
predicting the demise of the Pocket PC format.
Now, it appears Dell has kicked it in the pants.

Re: Pocketop keyboard

An Axim driver is now available for the product.
Fully compatible. The system provides for the
screen view to be rotated 90 degrees to make
for a "wider" writing area.

The Pocketop Wireless Keyboard is now ready for use on the Dell Axim.

Drivers for this keyboard can be obatined from http://pocketop.radiant.net/drivers.shtml

Screen rotation is available with this driver to allow for alignment of the IR ports between the Axim and the keyboard, or the included Pocketop stand will also accomplish the task without screen rotation.

100% return policy if not satisfied (return shipping not included).

just thought I should let everybody know that I got my pocketop today and have been using it for about 5 hours now. I love this little thing. I am a college student who wanted a pda to be able to write essays on, organize my life, play games, listen to mp3s, etc. This thing is going to do the job for me. The keyboard is a bit small when unfolded, but my 5'10'' hands haven't had any problems so far, at least not anything that would deter me from using it. I love the design, the size(when folded), the fact that it is wireless and compatible with any pda. I recommend it. Unless you are really big.
