Anyone using the Zonet CF modem (ZCF5610) w/ Axim? Looking to buy this since it's the best priced modem in market. Any feedback is appreciated. Also any other suggestions for modem brands. Thank you.

I have a new media technology compact flash 56 k v90 modem (company is now deceased) which will not work? The Axim will not recofnize it and thinks that it is a Network card? So be careful and choose a cf modem that has been tested by Dell. Do you have any suggestions for my problem?

Pretec (www.pretec.com) market a CF Modem. It is 56.6kbps (yeah right, like any of them are!!), and connects to the Axim's CF slot, and away you go. The card doesn't require drivers, so it is true plug-and-play. With it, I can do basic web surfing (screen is a bit small), check emails and reply to them and use MSN Messenger. It is easy enough with email and MSN, but web surfing can get a bit annoying. The card is great. It has worked without drivers in every Pocket PC I have tied. They are:

1. Jornada 545 (PPC2000)
2. Casio E-125 (PPC 2000)
3. PC ePhone (HPC 2000)
4. Axim X5 (PPC2002)

If your Axim has PPC2003, make sure you check with their technical support that it is supported. Good Luck!!!

I have an Ambicom CF 56K modem and don't use it much. If you are interested, you can make me an offer.

I just purchased an Ambicom CF 56k modem yesterday. It's a little bit of a pain to set it up, because you need to contact your ISP and set it up, which isn't too bad. But, it's been working great and I am actually using it right now! They are actually very useful.

I'd be interested in your modem if it will work with my X5.
