Great site, lots of good info, thanks to everyone!

Has anyone seen a compact flash sound card? What I really want is a decent microphone input so I can record lectures clearly at school. The voice recording is not really up to that IMO, my sound is really crackly with the gain turned up......

I read in the manual that in "noisy" environments you should actually turn the gain down. You might give that a try and see if it helps.

For simple voice recording try some aftermarket software. It appears the recording static problems are a deficiency in the included recording software. Most third party software does a cleaner job.
