Thanks for the picture. It has occured to me that the Veo640 might be nice for spot pictures when you just want to capture something simple... but $99 for a 640 picture is a little high... especially when it's the Ax that does all the hard work. Entire digital cameras cost that much. That's one of my complaints with the upcoming 1.3 cards too... $149 for a 1.3 meg cardcam? The entire Sony microcam with flash (stand-alone digital camera with 8 meg mem card) costs that. A CF cam is nothing more than a glorified webcam and should cost about the same. (Except for those stupid $99+ webcams... no memory, very little internal circuitry. Basically a light sensor and wire... man, I can't believe what some companies foist on the public...)
To my mind, a 1.3 CF cam should cost no more than $79 to $89... which is the going price of a true 1.3 stand-alone digital camera without flash unit.
The way that I really test the quality of a digital camera is two ways:
1- A face. If there is poor color saturation, it will really show up on a face. The colors will be separated and blotchy. Such doesn't always show up on architecture or scenery.
2- A sign. I like to take a picture of a billboard and see the resultant pixellation (or lack thereof).
