tv shows for your Axim

I don't know of a device like that but there is a cheapish way to get TV shows on a memory card. My laptop has a tv tuner card and a card reader. I record the show on my computer (much as you would with a VCR) and then encode it (I use FlaskMPEG and VirtualDub but this site has many other options) for the Axim. Then transfer it to the card and watch it with Beta Player. With a 1 GB card I can fit hours of shows (great for keeping my kids from getting bored driving in the car or waiting around for things).

Another option I can use (simpler in some ways but physically a hassle the way my house is set up) is to connect the VCR to my digital video camera and then the camera to my laptop and use Windows Movie Maker. You get a WMV file all ready for the Axim. The camera acts as an analog to digital converter.

Cheapest way: Get a camera/camcorder that records onto SD/CF. Have the lense facing the TV and press the record button. :rolling:

How about using PCTV or similar device and have it convert and record to the SD?

I bought one of these and it works great for recording onto an SD card. I can either view it on the player, my X5, or my PC (via card reader). It is pre-compressed (.avi format), and I can get about 4 hours on a 512mb SD card. Works for me! :approve:

the cheaper way is to aquire a tv tuner pc card,

these are cheaper then a bag of dirt.

simply hooked them to your cable tv/sattelite and your ready to go.

Even cheaper...download tv shows you want via bittorent (I hope I can say this...) and convert them...no TV tuner required :)
