As a long time palm user (newton - did run graffiti! - palm iii, treo 300, treo 600) and not the most enthusastic MS user (deeply embedded in the Unix world for the past 20 years) I've decided rather than upgrading my 600 to a 650, instead to spend a couple 100 bucks on a X30h (picking it up today!). I've been happy with the treo as a convergent device, but decided I wanted the flexibility that a second device will bring - something I dont have to carry around, but can if I want. WiFi is a big plus (plenty of free hotspots around). Speed, too. I like the treo's form factor as a phone, except for the screen size. I like PPC screen size but otherwise a little to big and I haven't been impressed with ppc phones yet ... the 600 is a great phone. So ... one of each! My ideal convergent device would be a treo-sized dual-boot palmos/mobile windows device, with a 320x480 screen (icrease screen size by removing the keyboard) and maybe, if they could squeeze it in, a pull out thumbboard.

So ... what's a list of must-have freebie downloads I should get? Though I imagine I'll get flamed for not looking it up myself ...

eh? The SPV is nice! It's small, good looking and functional.

The XDA Mini looks like someone on work experience designed it in their lunchbreak. It looks like a bar of soap with a screen and buttons on.
