New battery types for the future

I found this article very interesting especially if it is developped to be part of new PDAs. We maybe in for a new series of research to improve battery efficiencies for all mobile devices.

A while back I read about a Li battery that could be charged to 99% capacity within seconds and the remaning 1% in just a few min. I don't remember where I saw this, but I will try to dig up a link, They also said this battery would be avalible in devices by 2k6-2k7.

I read about that a few days ago on www.hardocp.com
"Physicists in Singapore have succeeded in creating the first paper battery that generates electricity from urine. This new battery will be the perfect power source for cheap, disposable healthcare test-kits for diseases such as diabetes."

These "bio" batteries would run forever in the local gin mill.
Wish I had one at Camp LeJeune when we survived on 3.2 "near" beer.

Thanks for the Link MrK.

That would be a cool technology to have for camping. Another option to charge electronic devices (handheld GPS) when the weather is not practical for solar cells.

BTW, nice to see you back. :approve:
