How can I download FREE DVD copy software for copy-protected DVDs?

I'm just looking to make back-up copies of some of my DVDs, but the software I have is crap. Be good to get better for free!! Also, is it possible to play a movie on your pc, pause it, and then copy that image to desktop background? Not had computer for long! Not sure of all the tricks!

First - Welcome to Mobilitysite. Lots of good info and ppl here.

Second - When you pause the movie just hit "print screen" on your keyboard and save the image as a jpeg file. Then, you can select it as your backgraound image. Keep in mind when movies are paused they don't always have a nice clean/clear image. :exc:

Third - I'm not sure you'll find a lot of good free DVD ripping software. I'd suggest searching thru the forums here to see what other people are using. :)

Kcallahan: Thank you for being kind and gracious to this user. Unfortunately this user is nothing more than a spammer, who asks a question, then logs in under a different user name (same IP address though) and answers their own question with a promotion of software ... nothing more than attempting to get free promotion of questionable software. (you did not see the answer that was posted multiple times because they were held for moderation) Spammers! Gotta hate em....Sorry they wasted your time like this. (Both user names have been permanently banned from the site)

Thanks for the heads up Julie. We do seem to be getting a lot of spam lately.

I was going to report it as spam last night when I saw the post a minute after it was posted, but thought maybe I was rushing to judgment.

Maybe what needs to be done here on aximsite/mobilitysite is something like is done on some of the other forums I frequent. Moderate the first 3 posts a new member makes and if they're legit, then they can post openly in the forums. The first 3 posts won't show up until a moderator has reviewed each one. You'd be amazed at how much this reduces spam.

Need any more moderators? I'm volunteering. :)

Any postings from new users that include links are held for moderation (I think a user has to have posted 10 times before they can post links without moderation)

Its a fine line...we want the forum to be easy and welcoming to new users but avoid abuses by spammers.
