October 6th, 2009 - Wizcode announced the beta of its newest product for Windows Mobile - Wizcode PhotoCopy Mobile.

Wizcode PhotoCopy Mobile lets you scan document pages using your device built-in camera and then convert the pages to a PDF document thus effectively turning your Pocket PC into a high-quality mobile scanner. Even if your device does not have a built-in camera you can still use the full capabilities of PhotoCopy Mobile by importing graphic files or even entire folders containing pictures. The supported image formats are currently JPEG, PNG and BMP and will be extended in the next releases of the product.

Any comments, suggestions, bug reports or feature requests will be appreciated.

The product will be officially released next week.

Doesn't just scanning to high-resolution, high-quality JPEG automatically make your device camera a "scanner"? ;)

Also, does this just wrap the image in a PDF, or does it do OCR to convert text in the image to ASCII?

Finally, how does it compare to the Qipit servce we blogged about a few months ago? A stand-alone program would be more convenient certainly, but how is the quality?
