No DS Forum?

Why are there a number of PSP sections and no DS section?

Come on!

PSP is way better than DS. Maybe DS for kids who'd like to draw on the screen and stuff, but for any other gamers/techies...PSP all the way.

Oh for the love of....

So PDAs are for kids who like to draw on screens?

Don't get me wrong, I love my PSP. Need to state that before I get going here.

You talk about "gamers". Any true "gamer" is going to have both a PSP and a DS. Just like a true gamer will have all 3 consoles.

PSP being "better" than the DS is your opinion. If we were to look at sales..ahem...the facts, it would be clear that millions disagree with you. The DS has outsold the PSP since it came out. Hands down.

Nintendo is the true innovator in gaming. You like analogue sticks? Rumble control? Shoulder buttons? Lock-on targeting in FPS games? The list goes on. All thanks go to the big N, Nintendo. Without Nintendo, gaming would be quite sad. Who else sticks their necks out to be different?

You cannot say one is better than the other. It is opinion. The DS has completly innovative games. The PSP has ports, no innovation. Both are good, depends on what you want.

As I said, I love my PSP. But I also love my DS. Both are great.

Anyway, this wasn't a "what's the better console" thread. Those are pointless and lead to retarded flaming.

This was a "where are the DS gamers threads?"

I have both a PSP and DS and honestly I dont think its just a kids toy. It actually has quite a few fun games and honestly I like it a little better than my PSP currently because of that. Sure its not as sexy but it does not have the god aweful load times and the battery life is very good.

The reason we don't have a ton of "DS" posts here is because we didn't absorb the posts of a DS website. I brought in the Pspsite.com posts and removed that website since it was basicly dead.

Sorry, I was a bit harsh on the DS there...
I didn't mean to make it sound like a kid's toy.
I just think that in terms of visual appearance and game graphics, the PSP wins. I'm not sure about the quality of the games for each.

I do love Nintendo. We go way back.

And yeah...sort of off-topic.

Great! Let's get the DS thread rolling then!

The new DS Lite hits shelves in Japan on the 2nd March (today for me as I am currently in Asia for work). I've already got mine reserved and should have it shipped to me by the weekend.

The DS Lite is truly a better machine, even if we're just talking about the 4 brightness levels.

The original DS was/is a pretty ugly piece of kit, to be sure. I love it, but I am almost embarassed to be seen in public with it, unlike my PSP which is truly sexy.

The new DS Lite is beautiful though. Very much a stolen design from Apple!

So Chris, how's about getting a "DS" forum up there in bold print?

The new DS Lite sold out in a mere matter of hours this morning in Japan. People waited in line overnight for it in the freezing rain.

Bigger lines than the XBox360, which shouldn't suprise.

The DS Lite, if forcasts are correct, is set to be the fastest selling games machine yet, even faster than the PS2.

Check out Gamespot for info.

Yeah, the original one is ugly as sin. But the games still rock.

Big IT show here today with two Nintendo booths showcasing the new DS Lite. This thing is amazing. Sales of PSP in this region have pretty much come to a stand-still.

I know the PSP is much more popular back in NA, but here and in the rest of the world the DS is king.

Still love my PSP. But difficult to choose which toy to spend time with!

What makes a console great is the available games. Nintendo has a wide range of games in all sorts. Some are plain and simple boring, others are really great. I'm currently playing Animal Crossing Wild World and can't imagine playing that on a PSP.
True that these kind of threads invite people to mix up opinions and facts. It's easily done, apparently.
I've been using the DS since it's european release and am still happy with it, not concerned by looks at all. To me, the most important thing is the games available, in every sence of the word.

True enough. I've got Animal Crossing but have not played it too much yet (just moved into town and am getting to know the others there) as I am playing Metroid Hunters a lot. I've got Brain Age on pre-order and it will be here on Monday. I'm looking forward to that, to see what all the crazy hype was about in Japan.

Poops, have you played the Japanese game Ouendan? You don't need to know the language to play. This is a totally addictive game! Loads of fun. If you ever see it, pick it up.

Game titles make the machine, for sure. That's why the PS2 was/is the killer console. Depends on loaction and what the people like to play as well. Back in NA the XBox and PS2 are huge (not to mention the new 360) because people like their action FPS games. Here in Asia where I am currently living, the XBox is pretty much non-existent. They keep doing 360 roadshows but no one is interested.

Everyone here seems to be saving their money for the PS3 and the Revolution.

Cheers.
