I purchased an X5 Advanced a few months after they came out, and have been using it regularly until last week. I purchased an iPaq HX4705 on eBay last week and I love it! Since it looks like the movement is towards converged devices and I really wanted a dedicated PDA, I decided now was the time to upgrade. I looked at an X51v, but saw so many posts about problems with the CF slot (I used a CF gps) and other things I started to look around and see what else is out there.

The HX4705 has a 4" TFT VGA display - I can't believe how bright it is and how good it looks. 624mhz processor, built-in wifi and bluetooth, great battery life. For me it was the perfect fit for my needs. It looks like I just stuck a deal here on Aximsite to sell the X5. I'm a little sad about that - the X5 has worked great for me, and it was my first PDA since my Palm Pilot Professional, but I absolutely love the new iPaq.

Just got an iPaq hx2495 after 8 years of Palms. Great device. Tough choice between iPaq and Axim. I probably would have been happy with either. Palms break after less than a year - I just couldn't take it any more.

I've got an Axim X50v, but have been looking at HP iPAQ Pocket PC hx2790.

What do you think ? Are these any good ? I had a Palm before my Axim, so don't mind change :D
