what is www.umpc.com ? is this a new Intel device?

heard about a website www.umpc.com, apparantly sponsored by Intel. Talks about a small "something" that has movies and entertainment and games and internet blah blah blah... any ideas on what this is? new PDA of some sort? says ultra mobile PC... but not sure what that is. ideas?

Very interesting. Maybe trying to compete with PSP or along those lines.

It wouldn't surprise me if this had something to do with Microsoft's Origami project. I believe I read some news story on Yahoo or CNet or something saying they could be related... the fact that the Origami site will have more info on the 9th, and this UMPC site will be updated on the 7th just makes the relationship more concrete in my mind :hide: .

http://www.intel.com/design/mobile/platform/umpc.htm maybe why the rumours of no more Axims circulated. I could see one of these with a Dell badge. ;)
