Hi! I am not a user of compaq-I have an axim x30 myself but my cousin has given me her Compaq 3835 to see if it can be fixed or something. Apparently it was her husbands but just randomly died and couldn't get it to work about a year ago i think! Right now I only have the actual handheld unit-no cables but she is going to look around the house for the cables and if its worth it I can always pic up a sync/charge cable or something.

Anyway...I dont know much about the unit but my first thought was maybe it needed a new battery or something like that (her husband is not too techy and I think originally his work gave it to him-he just used it but wasnt looking to fix it) anyway-i looked for a spot to change the battery or something like the axim has but I didn't see anything-can anyone offer some help how how to do that?

Any other ideas or suggestions or know if there is a way to fix a dead compaq??

You will have to take that unit apart to access the battery since it is internal. I believe you can still buy replacement batteries. You may want to go to the iPaq forum for more knowledgable help. Try here: http://www.mobilitysite.com/forums/f...splay.php?f=19
