I Need Desperate Help

I can't believe this. I had a hp6315 pocket pc and it was fairly reliable, although it sound sucked on headphones, the keyboard sucked and the phone quality sucked and generally it was slow. It was slow, and although the features on it wern't that great in quality it WORKED. Anyways, the quality got to me, so i smashed it in anger with a sledgehammer and baseball bat.

I went out and got a Toshiba e805. I heard its the best PPC ever.
420MHz XScale
128MB RAM
SD+CF
WiFi+Bluetooth
VGA Screen
AC97' Codec
2MB ATi IMAGEON Graphics

UPGRADED TO WINDOWS MOBILE 2003 SE

Yeah right. I wanna sledge this one too. Its fast, but everything freezes, locks up or resets altogether, on top of which after a hard reset/restore sometimes i can't get into my email, as clicking on the message icon on the Today's panel simply yields irresponsive, though after a hard reset doesn't lock up the PDA. I can't get my e-mail though. And it freezes when i multitask! GRR ON TOP OF THAT theres no lock function. I can't lock the screen or display. ON TOP OF THAT the Wi-Fi chooses to uninstall itself once in awhile claiming "Unknown Network Card in Socket 2"

I wanna sledge this one too......anyone can help me?

All i want is a device that can do the following: Play DivX, XviD, write and read documents via Word and Excel, Play music with good quality via speakers and headphones, go on MSN, keep a calendar and schedule, access my pop3, play games, go on the internet and have 4 hours battery life.....i want a PDA to do all these things, all at the same time if need be! Why can't i find a PDA that works............i had to sign up to a forum before i sledge this one.

Anyone help me? This toshiba e805 can do all the above just freezes.....and when it resets it doesn't work.

isiea - usually I welcome n00b's here on the AximSite,
but honestly:
I don't like your tone - it's way of the usual standard here.

Just have a look around ...

Well said Zaniax, should cool his anxiety a little bit, and the tone with!

And as one forum member said, "Dare I suggest an Axim?"

Sure, an Ax would work a lot better than a sledge hammer. :bang:

Install a 3300mAh batt in the Axim and encase it an aluminum hardcase and it may very well replace the sledgehammer as well.

Bad days happen to the best of us too. Venting helps too, usually not with a sledgehammer though -- I had times where I wanted to drive my stylus through its' screen. Usually I just sleep on the issue and it usually resolves itself.

Since you're having bad luck with two separate devices, I'd almost suspect the combination of third party software you're installing is causing some sort of interaction or problem. Rarely do PDAs ship with software that causes problems burn into the ROM.

The original post was edited for language and so was the title. No need to swear here just ask for help nicely and the members will.

May I suggest Xanax? Less expensive than smashing a PDA with a hammer. You have to have some patience with your gadgets.

For playing DivX, Xvid, etc, may I suggest TCPMP (link in MyPDA)? It has the broadest support for video and audio formats. It's not exactly finger-friendly, though.
The Axim X50/51 series handles Word and Excel right out of the box; they are the pocket versions, which are converted while syncing the file to your desktop. I'm not sure if WM2003se or WM5 automatically come/came with those installed (what do the experts say? guys?).
Before you give up on your current PDA because of WiFi, try Ikehiker's excellent WiFi guide right here on Aximsite.
As for freezing on multitask, try instaling extra programs into your Built-in Storage or a memory card (those that will go there). This will free up your RAM to work with more programs simultaneously. If you use Pocket IE often, clear out its cache. Also, get one of the "magic button" programs that actually closes an application when you click "X". WM2003 only minimizes, leaving the app open, in the background. Until then, you will need to manually shut down programs by tapping Windows button, Settings, System tab, Memory, Running Programs tab, and selecting a program you want to stop, followed by the Stop button.

Just a couple of suggestions.

Seriously, put down the blunt instruments, too. The very brief moment of satisfaction is followed by an extended period of incredible remorse.
