128 ram upgrade

I have now had the great guys at PPC Tech upgrade my ram on another PDA. I first had them do it on my x51v & it always had enough memory even if on line for a long time. This time they did an iPaq HX4700 for me. I have now changed to the hx4700 because it is the closest spec. unit to the x51v but wm2003. I cannot use wm5! Wm5 Eng. will not run the Japanese fonts program I have, but wm4 will. I sold my axim (with 128ram). I wanted to say thanks to all the help I got from you guys on this site.

So you think this would be a good idea to upgrade my x51v to 128mb or find a hx4700 to buy(if it is possible) and use this with the upgrade or even by itself.
Or maybe I could hold out for the Crossbow hx4800

ram uprade

The ram upgrade did wonders for my x51v. I sold it for more as it became more valuable. Now I use hx4700 with another upgrade only because I cannot use WM5.

Thanks I'm just curious about the age old x51v versus hx4700 comparison and the RAM upgrade improvement.

I am going to do this upgrade soon.
I just wondering how you packed you Ax before sending it to PPCTech? I don't have original box any more. Did you do hard reset before sending it?
I guess I also have to put it in standard Axim case, install standard battery instead of my 3300 mah and remove all storage cards. Is it right?

Thanks for reply...

Crap, I could have traded my X50v(currently on WM5, but I can revert to WM2003SE if necessary)for your X51v...probably would have had to throw in my T|C and/or some cash as well because of your RAM upgrade, though.

So, how is the hx4700's screen? Reviewers say that while the X50v/X51v screen is great, the hx4700 screen is nothing short of spectacular! It also may not suffer from the screen polarization issue along the vertical in portrait orientation. I have never encounted a hx4700 in person, though. The same could be said of the X51v, and the X50v until recently.

It's just too bad that the hx4700 has that infernal trackpad and a less-capable graphics accelerator, because otherwise it would've been my PDA of choice. Large stock battery, excellent screen, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, SD and CF slots...but that trackpad would suck for playing emulators.
