Comparing Pocket PC & Palm?

Are there any recent reviews comparing the two that I could point someone to? I'm having a hard time myself since i've never used Palm.

What do you wnat to use the device for? Palms are great for calendar, notes, and contacts (PIM applications). Everything else: PocketPC. Note that there are apps which give you palm-like functionality from the PocketPC PIM, such as Agenda Fusion and Pocket Informant. Also, the palms generally have MUCH less memory than the PocketPC units.

Er, the latest palms have real nice screens. That's important to mention.

There have been several threads/posts on this very subject in the past several days here at Aximsite. Search, or just scroll down a few pages, and you will probably find them.

Bottom line is that either top-end model (e.g.: Palm TX; Dell X51V) will perform the same functions, albeit differently due to the underlying architectural differences.

Beware the Palm T|X...I had one and had to take it back because of random resets...even after a hard reset. I went through two of them, and decided on the 51v after that (after my experience with my 4700).

Plus, a program called StyleTap, allows you to use Palm programs on a PocketPC.

I did do a search and found what I'm looking for. I should have known this kind of thing would have already being covered. Thanks for the heads up.:approve:

look for the thread in the brighthand forum: "How long did you have your palm TX before it broke?" Could be a little bit different name but you get the idea. It looks like those guys have quite a bit of issues with PALM TX and send it back and forth for repairs under the warranty (for those who have it). Well I will see how long my axim works....

I'm on my third Dell X50V due to hardware failures.
