One of my users has a grant to buy a bunch of PDAs so the lawyers can store data on various cases. I had planned to use the x51v, which is why I got one in the first place. But since they can't be gotten anymore, the n311 has been suggested. The lack of a CF slot isn't a biggie since SD cards have gotten more capacity. It's slower, but does seem to have a nice VGA screen. And it's lighter and smaller.
I'm a programmer and will be using dotnet to write the app. I see nothing wrong with giving this a go but figured that I'd pass it by you folks. The bottom line is that whatever I use has to be small, fairly cheap (so $1200 ultralights are out), have good battery life, and a good screen. And, it must run WM5 (at least).
I think the thing that the axims have over practically every other device is the built in graphics card that really does enhance video/movie playing on the device...
I read a review somewhere about the n311 being let down on multimedia playing and overall performance is mediocre, I like the cradle which allows horizontal position...
which remind me other PDA/ phone getting near to Axim specs where Axim is getting older
Axim liiivesss :approve:

We have 3 at work and whilst they have a good screen and nice form factor they do crash periodically and require a battery out/in reset to get it going again; other than that no complaints.
When I switched from a 400 mHz WM2003 iPaq to a 628 mHz WM5 Axim I was disappointed by the decrease in speed (mainly WM5 fault).
If Acer is even slower, I'd think twice. It all depends on what you want to use it for. For a typical lawyer with thousands of appointments, clients, tasks and documents I'd go for speed / storage capacity even if it means no VGA.
