I just scored some odd PDAs

This week, I went out to a customer site to install a Symbol WindowsCE (they still make that?!) PDA/Barcode scanner thing. When I get there, I discover that the reason I'm installing this thing is because the customer is totally unhappy with these other PDA barcode scanners someone sold him several months back. No problem. I unhooked the old ones and set up the new one.

And then the customer did something utterly bizarre: he chucked the old ones in the dumpster. These things were brand new Opticon PHL-5200 PDAs (the list on these things is insane).

Moments after I he signed off on the install, there I was in the dumpster fishing those two PDAs and their docks out. In my business shirt and slacks. Luckily they landed on a soft, sealed garbage bag.

Now I gotta figure out what I'm going to do with these things.

great four,
the PPC-barcode scanner is similar in size as the axim x3. It comes with the 400 intel Xscale processor and has 64 RAM + 64 ROM with one SD mem card slot. It has bluetooth, wlan, and irda as well as a built in barcodes scanner.
Not terribly sure what version of windows is on it prolly wm2003.
Not a bad find for "dumpster diving". Christmas in may!!!
