X51v all the way! It has a VGA screen and an Intel 2700G graphics accelerator, which make all the difference for videos and OpenGL-ES games. (Those are the main two reasons why I'm sold on it, especially the latter. Not many WM devices nowadays have capable GPUs, even the VGA ones.) Both would probably fare equally well for music, but the X51v can run this X50mix app that takes advantage of the sound chip's hardware equalizer, which means less CPU usage and thus less battery drain.
The only advantage I can think of with the HP offerings is that I think they're the ones with the fingerprint scanner, but that's it. They haven't made a single device since the hx4700 that can even compete with the X50v and X51v hardware-wise...
Oh, and whatever device you get, make sure you're using TCPMP for your media player. It can leverage the X51v's 2700G for smooth VGA-resolution MPEG-4 video playback even while the CPU's set to 208 MHz, meaning longer battery life and probably better quality as well! Furthermore, it supports just about every video format you can think of.
