I posted this on BH, and thought you guys might be interested also...

"I was at the socket site looking into the sd barcode scanner and stumbled across some interesting links...

This mentions some compatibility issues w/ a few Ipaq models

Here is a chart of sd slot compatibility...

a faq on a new driver for the 2200 sd slot

http://www.socketcom.com/faq/faq.asp?ID=171

a link to the 2200 sd slot driver

ftp://ftp.socketcom.com/HP22xx_SDIO..._DLL_Retail.zip

here is the sd barcode scanner page I started from

http://www.socketcom.com/product/IS5300-464.asp

there was also a link in there for the 1900 series.

Hopefully this helps someone having sd troubles, and if it is old news, sorry."

Led,

Thats a class find!

(I've been having lock up issues when I power my 2210 up; this is normally fixed by removing and reinserting my SD card..)

Suggest you link to here from the "lock-up issues" thread on the 22xx forum..

I am curious if the new driver actually fixes your problem, or if it only resolves issues w/ the barcode scanner.

Well...
Quote:
HP has provided a new set of driver files for distribution by OEM hardware vendors to correct these issues with the SDIO slot of these devices.
suggests its a fix from HP for the SD card slot, rather than a fix for Socket devices...

Thats the way I read it

NEW SD drives work!!!
Ledpocket, THANKS a LOT!!!

New SD drives that you found make a world of difference!

I have a lot of programs on my SD card and had a barely tolerable lock ups. Every time I have had opened several programs, PPC would lock up or iTask would not respond and I had no choice but to soft-reset.

But with new drives, my PPC works! If too many programs are open and I open a new one, then PPC automatically closes the other one, so that memory does not fill out. iTask always responds.

I just downloaded the new HP drives for iPAQ 22XX from

ftp://ftp.socketcom.com/HP22xx_SDIO_...DLL_Retail.zip

The zipped file contains three *.dll files, which all go to PPC Windows directory and replace old dll files. Then I finished with soft reset and presto everyhting works!

What a great find, ledpocket!
