Why not two slots?????
Okay is it just me or is it more common for new devices to only have one slot, and that slot being SD. It makes me a lil disturbed because I need/prefer two slots for a number of reasons.

Okay, okay, even if SD is the wave of the future, despite not having the Dollar-to-capacity ratio as CF, why can't someone develop a device with 2 SD slots?

Does anyone know of such a device? Curious...........

I think size and cost are the main reason you don't see both on a device.

I think
hp iPAQ h2215 pocket pc has both SD and CF slots.

There are very few devices out there with two slots. The reason I believe is mainly size. OEM's can build smaller devices just using SD slots. I think there is enough people out there that would prefer two slots so I don't think price is a factor. The trick is to keep the device small enough if both slots are incorporated. As of now (as far as I know) the 2215 is the smallest device available that offers both CF and SD slots.

Toshiba, HP and Dell has the only devices (as far as I know) that has both CF and SD slots. Toshiba has terrible service and people are seeing that. Dell is better than Toshiba but their service is not exactly stellar either.

The 2215 was the best option in my opinion, that is why I ended up purchasing it, definitely a GREAT deal - I cannot regret it. With my recent game additions, this device has everything going for it. Soon to add a WiFi card and network, we are Smooooth running!

Okay, enough praise, you guys will probably fall asleep!

Yeah manufacturers are trying to stick the SD format so their products, ie. pda/digital cameras will be small. They dont really care if CF cards are sign. cheaper than SD's.

It's just like when cellphones first became popular. Remember the big phone bags? Then the analog cellphones that look like garage door openers. As time went on, Cellphone manufactures started making them smaller to appeal to the consumers. That's what we wanted, the smaller it is, the sexier it looks (electronic devices of course). Same goes with Pocket PC OEM's, the smaller it is the more appealing. That can be accomplished because of the size of SD cards.

I know the Zodiac2 has 128MB internal memory and two SD slots. I can't think of any other devices that have two SD slots

I would have to agree with you. I own a 2215, and I love it! Nothing better in my opinion. Althought the Toshiba E8000 VGA is tempting the size is a litte unforgiving compared to my 2215. I agree with you. I previously owned an Axim X5 but got rid of it for the 2215. Dell's service leaves something to be desired for sure.

I had orginally asked the question because I wanted to know if the general population of PDA enthusiaist's were feeling that dual slots were no longer needed. I gotta have dual slots! Long live the 2215!

Eventhough smaller its not always better. I think the smallest PPC shoul be like 19xx, 41xx, anything smaller I think it would be hard reading ebooks in there.
And if the PPC companies will abandon CF, then they should do double SD slots devices.

That would be convenient and very acceptable.
