4350 Comes W/Sync & Charge??
My cradle came with an attachment that can replace cradle, Since no power source will be attached does this charge the IPAQ through the USB port??? Do I have to buy the sync & charge cables to do this? I just got a case from Proporta and cannot fit it in the cradle.

I am thinking that you are talking about the AC convertor attachment that fits on the bottom of you unit but I am not sure. Could you describe the part you are talking about?

One side will plug directly into the bottom of the ipaq and the other side plugs into the cord coming directly from my USB port.

I think it's common with PPCs. They basically use more power than they can draw from a standard USB port (which by specs is only required to have 100mA and rarely goes over 500mA. If you look at the power adapter supplied with the iPaq, it supplies 2000mA - a pretty substantial difference.

HP does sell a cable with which you can sync that also has a port where you can plug in the standard power adapter.

Alright this is probably pretty silly, After reading all of the Activesync warnings and making sure that Activesync is installed before your device is there going to be a problem if I disconnect the cradle and insert the HP USB sync/charge cable??? Just a little paranoid.......

It shouldn't be a problem to remove it, but sometimes ActiveSync is kinda finickey (is that a word?).

As for recommendations, I heard Boxwave has a great little sync cable that retracts for easy storage and its great for traveling. I haven't tried it, but reviews have been good.

Good luck. And whichever cable you get, let us know how you like it!

Thanks ikehiker, Just came back from CUSA with the HP sync/charge. Probably would have purchased the other sync/charge cable that charges through the USB port since there were tons of them, Had to scrounge for the HP cable. Only charged at first but after I reset my CPU it worked just like the cradle and no problems with activesync. This is awesome since I don't have to remove it from the case now. Thanks again everyone!!!!
