It most likely is not covered under the warranty but HP sells the cradle on their site (FA109A#AC3) and I suspect you can get it from various other stores, too. Alternatively, they also sell a cable (FA122A#AC3) for about half the price which I've used and it works equally well (and may be less susceptible to boot damage )

The cable is a good idea. IMO, the only thing that makes the cradle a "must have" is if you have a spare battery that you need to charge.

If you enD up buying a cable instead of a cradle, I suggest the BoxWave MiniSync. It works really well and is very small which is great for travelling.

And you could try giving HP a call to see if they cover something like that for your cradle. You never know.

I agree the Boxwave is a fine cable for traveling but I prefer the official cable from HP because it has a port where you can plug in the power adapter. Many of the charge/sync cables do not work well for charging because of the low power output by USB ports(the official standards only require USB to put out 100mA and they never go over 500mA. These are pretty different from the 2000mA put out by the wall adapter). Of course if you get the Boxwave, you can still charge the iPaq with the wall adapter, just not at the same time as syncing.

Mobile Planet's service is super... I generally receive my orders in about 24 hours from time of ordering via FedEx.
