Newbie needs help with Ipaq 3955 PC card expansion pack
Hi everyone,
I'm a newbie to this forum so please excuse me if I ask any questions that may already be out there.
I just bought a PC Card Expansion Pack Plus and I was wondering what I can hook up to it. Here's some of the hardware I have laying around that I wanted to be able to hook up to it...
1. I have a USB 2.0 PC card
2. I have a USB 2.0 external harddrive that runs off AC power
3. I have a USB mouse that I would like to use

Is it possible to interface with all of this stuff? If so, where can I find PPC 2003 drivers for them?

Thanks in advance for your help!
J-Dog

Welcome aboard.
I'm not sure I can give you a definitive answer, but I was never able to get a USB 2.0 card to work in my expansion sleeve. I've been told, and it sounds reasonable to me, that due to power requirements it just won't work. I have seen a CF USB 2.0 card that is designed to work with the ipaqs, but I didn't feel like shelling out the $100+ USD. If you want to take a look at it, I can probably dig up the link tonight when I get home from work.

Thanks Walt.
Thanks for the warm welcome Walt. I know my USB 2.0 PC card allows for an additional power source to be plugged into it. I think it is 5V but I would have to look at the specs to be sure. I wonder if it would work I could provide the additional power to it.
If you don't mind I would like to see the link to the CF version of the USB 2.0 just for curiosity sake. I don't want to spend a $100 on it either.

Thanks again,
J-Dog

No problem. When I get home from work tonight I'll fire it off to you in a PM. May be late tonight, but I'll get it there.

Ok, I guess I didn't remember correctly. The card is a CF USB 1.1 adapter. Here's the link, anyway. Let us know how you make out.
