Absolutely. The screen is the part of the device that takes the most wear and tear (except for maybe the Power button. Therefore, it pays to protect it. Plus I find I use the device more effectively when I am not worrying about scratching the screen accidently.

On my iPaq I use an InnoPocket screen protector and a weekly application of silicon-based furniture polish to keep the surface smooth and dust free.

If you donīt use it, the screen will get very ugly in short time, and in the bottom where you write it will at last have very bad regocnizion because of all the scratches. So i think the few bucks used on a protector is worth it.
I use writeshield. It also give the surface a little "paperlike" feel, so itīs more natural to write on.

I use it also for protection. I've mistakenly picked up a pen and used it on the face and it's not something you want to permanently mark. I've seen serious scratches that look hideous on PDAs.

The drawback is that you loose the smooth silk texture and sensitivity of a natural screen.

I always use a screen protector. A damaged screen is too costly to replace.

I just got the new NuShield protectors, and like them a lot so far. Before that I had the Belkin ones and they were crap. Don't get them.

I have been using the G2 protectors for a while now. I found that every PDA screen I had would develop small scratches when using FITALY and other onscreen keyboards so screen protection is essential for me. Protectors also allow you to play games like Insaniquarium without worrying about your screen.

I do not use them often. I should, but I don't.

I have some WriteRights. They're pretty bad, absorb a lot of light and get soft in the sun. But OTOH I had the pack already and may as well make use of them. I ALWAYS use a protector. These ones last forever so it'll be a while before I move to another brand.

I will only use Martin Field's screen protector. If I had to use other brands, i will choose not to use at all...

I'm sold on the Boxwave protectors. I find the letter recognition is much better, and as was stated above, I don't worry so much about the device being damaged. I've stated noticing when people don't have screen protectors on their units, and how bad the screens can look.

I don't want to take the chance of scratching the screen accidently. Plus the letter recognition is definitely better without the glare.

This is a given...taking into account that writing and playing games on the PDA involves some pretty harsh stylus movements. I'm using ClearView...and like it's name says...the view of the screen is clear...as if there's no screen protector. Texture-wise, it feels just like the original screen is: smooth.

Protect Your Investment
I started using screen protectors after pitting the screen of my first Palm pilot. It was ugly! One day I dropped the device - which was not in a case - and broke the screen! I sent the PDA to 3Com for screen replacement (that cost $100). When it came back, I rushed out and bought a Targus leather case and WriteRights. Since then I've never had a PDA that didn't have a case or screen protector.

I am using an old Palm IIIe WriteRight that was manufactured before they were bought out by Belkin. It has a "gritty" surface that gives a pencil-like feel. I had to cut it to fit, and it's been in use about six months. I stumbled on the package when going through some old books. It was being used as a bookmark for "Handbook for the Palm Organizer."

I've tried using the newer WriteRights, but they don't have the same feel. I've heard good things about BoxWave, and will give them a shot next time I'm in the market for a good screen protector.

I just purchased a MArtin Fields protector and I can't wait for it to get here since I use my new 4155 for TomTom GPS. EVERY review I have read raves about this screen protector or the boxwave (and I read quite a few before buying) these seem to be the best.

It looks like, and correct me of I'm wrong, that the MFileds protector is slick like the pocket pc screen. hope so. I am a bit worried about the install process though, since they warn about dust.

<does the international order mean it takes forever to arrive?>
