Beware of Belkin Screen Protectors
Just thought I would share my negative experience of using Belkin screen protectors on my new iPAQ.

These things are just horrible. I purchased a 12-pack of these at Futureshop up here in Canada. They are the "ClearScreen" type. And let me tell you, there is nothing clear about them! After applying several of the overlays I have come to the conclusion that they are just poor quality. I can't seem to apply them without getting a substantial "air bubble" effect. Also, they are very tough to remove from the screen. I tried the scotch tape trick, but good-luck, the adhesive on these things is ridiculous.

I will be ordering a new protector from Bando shortly. Hopefully it will arrive soon, because the Belkin makes the device so unattractive.

Anybody else had a bad experience with this brand of protector?

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Belkin. I haven't tried them or Brando, but I have had execellent results with the ones from Boxwave.

I haven't tried the Brando either, but they seem to get very good reviews. I have used the BoxWave and the WriteShield protectors, both with great results.

I've been using the Belkin without any trouble. My experience has been that the small "air bubbles" work their way out over a few days. Also, when the device is on, you don't notice the air bubbles. I agree the adhesive is probably stronger than it needs to be.

I've used both the Belkin and Boxwave - the difference is night and day - might as well put saran wrap on you PDA if you use the belkin ones. The Boxwave protector is so much better.

belkin is horrible
after about a week of use, a hole is formed up on the right bottom of scrolling bar (down arrow)
I use fingernail, but fellowes works ok, replace every 3-4 months, and a lot better than belkin
avoid "Clearscreen Overlay", period
don't tell me I never warned you

Today I removed my Belkin protector and put on a Boxwave. The Belkin brand was showing wear where I tapped the most, but was a decent protector FOR THE PRICE. They are a PAIN to put on (I usually ruin one or two getting them on), and it takes a week or so for the bubbles to dissapate. I always got bubbles no matter how careful I was. But they eventually disapper and as mentioned, they aren't as noticeable with the unit turned on.

In contrast, the Boxwave went on quickly, flawlessly, and easily! WOW! I used a can of compressed air before starting and ensured not a speck of dust was on the screen before applying. The Boxwave also has less glare. Definitely an impressive installation.

I have also used the Belkin screen protector and would have to rate them as the worst accessary I have purchase for my iPaq.
The thing that annoyed me most is that here in Australia the Belkin brand is branded as an official HP product, It concerns me that HP would allow their name to be associated to such a crap product!

2 Thumbs up for my Boxwave!

I have never tried the Belkin and let me tell you why...I never buy or try anything without checking the forums here at IPAQHQ. I saves me money and hassles!

Brando protectors rock! Took a few days to arrive. Easy to attach, no bubbles, great sensitivity. Better view with direct sunlight.
And... I didn't mention the service yet.
