Innopocket Mag case impressions
I recently received my Innopocket Magnesium case for my hx4700 so I can feel safe carrying it around in my back pocket (so far, so good!) After ordering, it arrived in good condition from Hong Kong in about 10 days. The form fit is nice, it has a neoprene interior so that the unit fits snugly. It does add some heft to an already meaty device, but not terribly so. It also comes with a belt adapter which I don't use it since I keep it in my back pocket. The case has cutouts for all the important areas: LED, speaker, record button, soft reset, IR port, sync port. I also love how it hinges at the top and can act as an ad hoc pedestal.
My biggest complaint is that the sync port cutout is not that wide, because I also purchased the Boxwave directsync USB cable (goodbye cradle!) and the Arkon powered mount for GPS navigation, and both of these sync cables barely fit the port -- they are a bit too wide and don't quite connect completely. I guess the blame could also be on Boxwave and Arkon, because the HP OEM AC cable fits without a problem, but it seems like the Mag case sync port could have been cut just a bit wider. For now, I just plug in the cables and try and keep the unit from moving so as to not lose the connection, rather than have to remove the Ipaq from the case everytime I want to sync. Other than this, I'm pretty happy with the case.
