does the screen protector make a difference
I am now using the screen protectors that hp sells for my 4705. I am getting real good at using the letter transcriber, which is a little strange because i have calligrapher, but I am wondering if a different screen protector will give me a little more of a paper like feel. I am also thinking that the tip of the stylus that you use can make a big difference as well. Any thoughts

Many folks here prefer the Boxwave Anti-glare screen protector for the very reason it gives a more paper like feel. See this thread and do a search on Boxwave Screen Protectors and you will see many posts.

I can second the boxwave anti-glare. I've had one for about 5 months. It takes a lot of writing and sketching. I clean it after every heavy notetaking session as the sylus strokes remain visible.

I use a pen-type stylus which also helps with the notetaking.

Me too. My favorite is the PhD Multi (pen, pencil, stylus - link in my View MyPDA). It's cheap and you can get them at any Office Dept/OfficeMax.

I recommend Brando (I applied on all 3 pdas)
it's enhanced (anti-glare), thin and pretty easy to apply
I used to have Boxwave Clear, it reduces the screen sensitvity a lot, even it gives pointing error
now with Brando, I'm satisfied so far

after about 3 months of use, Boxwave got badly scratched (perhaps I use fingernail most of the time)
then you see how good the protector protects the screen
keep in mind, the protector gets scratched, you can simply replace it
but if the screen gets scratched, replacing LCD (and digitizer) is pain in your a**

Anti-glare is definitely the way to go if you want a paper-like feel. I've used a couple of different brands and all seem to be somewhat comparable in quality. I used one for a bout a year and will never use anything else.

The anti glare screen protectors from Boxwave are very good quality, I have had mine on for 6 months now and have only taken it off once to clean it. It is slightly pealing at the top but that is only visable when it is off and does not effect use at all. I reckon it could last another good 6 months before another wash.

I use hp ones and they're fine, i've been through nearly a whole packet and I'm pretty happy with the quality they've left my screen in.
