Moving from 680 to 750: Transferrence of stuff?
So I've had a Treo 680 since the end of 2006. I'd say I upgraded from a 650, but "upgrade" isn't quite the word. It's functioned, but it's been buggy (including the never-fixed bug that destroys battery life in the already skimpy 1200mAh battery), and if the Tungsten T|5 put me off Palm-based PDAs, the 680 has just about put me off PalmOS-based phones. (And I used to love Palm.) So within a few days I'll have myself a Treo 750 with WM6. (I'm getting a good deal on one, and I like the Treo line.)
My main concern here is transferring all of my contacts from the Palm Desktop to (urg) Outlook. I don't use outlook for anything but syncing my Axim X50v (and even then it doesn't actually do anything, I just have Outlook installed because it's required.) However, now it looks like I'm going to have to have Outlook handle all of my contacts from here on in. Kinda sucks, but what can ya do? So is there a way to take all of my (too many to do by hand) contacts out of Palm Desktop and transfer them to Outlook? I'd really like to keep all of my contacts and not have to reenter them all by hand; that would take for-bloody-ever.
Also, any tips on useful apps for this unit? I'm very familiar with Windows Mobile devices (I still love my Axim) and while I've owned a WinMo phone in the past (E-Ten M600) I really didn't like it due to being ridiculously flawed and sold it within a couple weeks of buying it (got the aforementioned 650 instead), so I'm not familiar with what phone apps would be good and perhaps most importantly support the square screen. I'm particularly interested in a good (reliable!) alarm clock with MP3 support (any issues with the alarm not triggering? This has dogged me on WinMo devices forever!) and maybe a ringtone manager if necessary.
Any help is appreciated.
