Has anyone heard if and when the 700W may be released to other cell providers such as Tmobile and Cingular? I know there are some major hardware differences between the phones those providers supply and the ones that Verizon has. But I would like to ditch my 650 and move to a Windows based phone, and would like to keep with the Treo form factor.

I haven't seen anything recently about the 700W.

Seems like Verizon's got the "exclusive" rights to it for now.. As for T-Mobile or others, I am not sure if the original 700w is GSM or not, if it is, you should be able to get it directly from manufacturer once it is released to the public as a standalone unit.

Cingular release is slated for 1Q 2007.

Alltel is expected to release it as the 700wx (upgraded memory like Sprint) in mid-November.

It seems very strange that the 700w or 700wx are only available on CDMA networks. I think if it hasn't been released on GSM networks that it may not be likely released. I don't know, but just a guess.

Especially with the 750 now available, it is likely the 700w or 700wx replacement on GSM networks, just like the 680 is the GSM replacement for 700p, but that's on the Palm OS side. ;)

there is the 700v which is in the UK (exclusive to vodafone GSM)

and i believe the exclusivity period is now virtually up

Cingular will not release it due to the 750 in production, While T-Moblie will not also produce due to the use of HTC's.
