Installing Programs 2

Hi there,

I've noticed that when I go to install a program and I decide not to install to the default directory I get a box up asking if I want to install to either the 'Main Memory' or 'Built In Storage', I did choose 'Built In Storage' by accident, even though it said there was no space available and it started to install the files, but I pressed Cancel and stopped the install, I'm slightly worried I may have written over some files in ROM, but I would have thought it would have mentioned something when I tried to install it there but it didn't.

Is my ROM okay or have I buggered it? Axim seems to be ok!

first of all, rest assured that you have not messed up the OS.

Apart from the OS, the ROM does have some spare capacity, thus the 20+MB billed as "build-in storage" on an Ax 400MHz. Although you can install programs there, this is not recommended. First of all, it is slower than RAM, and more importantly, it has limited write cycles, around 10k, I think.

Use your file explorer to "explore" your "built-in storage" and freely deleted any files left over as a result of you aborted installation.

You really don't have to worry about it. If you hit cancel during the Active Sync installation, then there should not be any file installed. No files are usually installed on the Axim until Active Sync tells you to check your device. But like hambalan said, If there were, it is easy enough to delete them using File Explorer.
