Question SD Card problem writing and reading to

Hi, Newbie here. Thanks in advance for you help. I have a 256mb sandisk sd card I got from Dell. I can't copy any files to the SD card, I only have 30mb now, so it can't be full yet. Can't copy mp3 files, can't copy NES rom or PDF file to the SD card. the 30mb I have is of NES rom (it stopped writing after this). Once in a while I can't even read my NES rom and would have to softreboot to fix this problem. so softreboot i can fix the read problem, but still can't write to card.

My friend's Ipaq can't read my SD card as well.

My friend reformated my card on his laptop and then I put that in my Axim, I was asked by the Axim to reformate, which i Did. It was working ok but now after 30mb of writing, it stopped letting me write anymore.

Is there a way to reformate the SD card and start over again?
Or is my card defetive? Or my Axim 400hz is defective. I can still read and write on the internal Ram, just not the SD card. i have Rom version 2. Should i update to version 3 to fix or get a new SD card. Or get a SD read/writer for my computer.

2- Read the sad stories that Sandisk SD's + Dell Axim's cause

3- Sigh

4- Call Dell and request a RMA for the Sandisk SD

5- Buy any brand SD other than Sandisk
