Email & IMAP

Hello all,

I've just bought my first PDA (Axim X50v) and i'm keen to organise the way i send and receive emails. at present i have one mail address that is received at home and then re-routed to my work email which is inaccesible from outside of work. this leads to multiple versions of the same email and no access to replies sent from work, etc.

I want to be able to send and receive emails from my Axim via my mobile phone over bluetooth and have some kind of sync with my desktop at home, therefore removing my work pc from the equation. i understand that IMAP is the way to go but can find no definitive guide to this for the axim (loads for treo, etc) and would like some clarification on the protocol and how it would work and be configured...

is pocket outlook sufficient or should i be looking as something like WebIS mail? if so, why?

Apologies for so many questions but it's really bugging me and i want to get the maximum benefit out of my Axim and get it fully configured before i go away in January (off for a month in Australia and want to remain connected to the rest of the world).

thanks

first off, i'd read all the tutorials available here.

second, i'd used the search function of this board.

i used webis for the ease of use aspect.

there shouldnt be any problems with you figuring it out.

myself, i made a specific email acnt for the mobile.

for me its easier to use my phone to check my email as

i dont have access to wifi's. im using my pda to write sms

then xfer them into the phone for sending them out. it much

easier to type with the pda then the phone. :hide:

Thanks for the reply.

i've been reading the site for a few weeks now in preparation for the delivery of my axim. i've read the tutorials and done a good search for info on IMAp but it still doesn't seem clear. if anyone uses it i'd appreciate hearing how they have configured their axim to send and receive email...
