I have had all kinds of problems trying to get Outlook 2000 working. Right now I can sync with all the calender notes contacts but still not getting e-mail to work. And Why is it you can not set Outlook 2000 to read Hotmail like Express does?

Because it is a different program

just poke around in options and accounts, you'll generally find everything you're looking for, perhaps in a different place.

People that are used to Outlook have the same issues with OE.

You're much less likely to get a virus via Outlook 2000 or later than with OE because it will refuse to open attachments with about 27 different suffixes.

OutLook has a number of advantages over OE, but in the end - it is what you are familiar with that works best.

I'm sure there'll be a lot of people using Outlook for the first time ... like me. I just spent a couple hours re-doing my blocked senders rules. With W2000 pro, I have had zero problems getting this stuff to work.
Can you make shortcuts to files on the today screen?

You can add POP mail service to Outlook by going to Tools- Accounts. You can Add mail accounts here and setup to connect to POP and IMAP mail servers to get your mail. The reason they are different is that Outlook is mainly used by corporations to connect to Corporate Exchange Mail servers. Outlook Express is aimed at home users trying to connect to ISP POP mail accounts. Yeah, it's a little goofy, but it's the Microsoft way.
