X51v runs WM5 and has double the ROM.

The X50v available at the Dell Outlet is a great buy.
Basically, 'cept for the newer, and seemingly problematic OS, and the additional ROM, the X51v and X50v PDA's are the same.

My X50v w/ WM2003SE, runs solid as a rock. Lots of programs including some hungry ones too!

I will purchase an X51v but after the OS bugs are patched.

x50v has more flexibility. x51v gets a measly 128 more rom, but loses OS flexibility (which means software compatibility issues) and backup battery. Most people don't even use up all their 128mb built in storage anyways in their x50v, so another 128 more in the x51v isn't that spectacular. Most people do their storage on faster gigabyte/s SD/CF cards anyways. So x50v is overall a more solid bet than a x51v in my opinion.

You can get an x50v from the outlet for cheap, but I would rather wait for a sale (and coupon codes) when you can get a new x51v for the same price as a refurb x50v.

I would personally recommend the x50v instead of the x51v. The x50v is a tried and true product. There are still many bugs with the x51v and WM5.

I upgraded from an x5 to an x50v nearly a year ago. that was tough! however, cannot see any utility in upgrading to an x51. I love it. will wait until the next generation or more significant changes.
