Please bear with me :)

I'll be purchasing an Axim (400 mhz model) in a week's time, and was curious about the various video formats that the included WMP could handle. I've got an ATI AIW 8500 that I use to tape television shows (my girlfreind gets the mpg's I like WMV myself), and really do like the quality that I can get with the WMV 8 and 9 codecs.

Can the version of WMP included on the Axim play these files? I've done a lot of searching on a number of sites and find it hard to come up with a definative answer. What size is best for me to record at (320x240 or smaller)? What bit rate will look acceptable on the Axim's screen. If it helps at all, I'll have a 256 and 128 Mb sd card and wireless connectivith through CompactFlash.

Normally, I'll tape a show at 865kbps and get two 1 hour shows (commercials edited out) on one CD. These will be watched on a 19 inch monitor or piped through to a 27 inch tv.I figure I can fit one edited show on a 128 mb card at 200 kbps (approx 70 mb), or 3 on a 256 mb card. How good do these low bit rate files look on a small screen?

Thanks for any answers or advice.

Tom
