(Please only reply with Freeware solutions)

1.) How do I install themes that I downloaded (.tsk files). Can I use them without any special software?

2.) What are my options for playing MP3s, besides Windows Media Player?

3.) Is there a freeware solution for making a cascading start menu? I know Pocket Facelift will do it, but it's too bloated and unreliable. I want something that *only* does cascading menus...like an actual desktop PC does.

In answer to #3, check out SmallMenu and ProgramMenu at www.tillanosoft.com.

In answer to #1, place the ".tsk" files in the Windows folder on the Axim. Then you can select them from START-SETTINGS-TODAY. No special software needed.

In answer to #2, there are tons of MP3 playing apps available - though I just use the Media Player that came with it. I don't use it for MP3's all that much.

PocketMVP is rather nice for this...

Has anyone tried both of these? SmallMenu & Program Menu?
What additional features does each have that are good, bad, or neutral?

I'd like to choose between these 2 without downloading both, trying them both out, blah, blah. I'm a pretty trusting kind of guy, and I'd like to learn from the trials and tribulations of others.....

Thanks!
;)

I second the motion of pocketMVP. Its a very robust program that will play mp3's and ogg's...and maybe more, I haven't tried them all yet. I think it might play video, too! But it won't do wma's, so...With the RIAA fascists moving in, I think it might be a good idea to move away from WMP, which presumes (or will, in the future) to tell you what you can and can't listen to.
Thats my 2 cents worth.
Anyways, go pocketMVP.

I use ProgramMenu (the freeware option) and it is certainly a great little program that will make starting application simpler.

Just try and see for yourself.
