Hi, I am from ireland and am going to new york for 6 days and am looking to purchase the dell axim handheld.is there any difference between the us model and the european model. (apart from the power supply)

The US model doesn't support some of the Wifi channels used in europe (but works for the rest) and doesn't understand the concept of irony.

You should be able to cope with both omissions ;)

With a US Axim you will be able to get the latest updates. With a european one you are allways behind. I would never ever buy a non US Dell Product again!

I don't think it's a US vs europe problem that you have there, more of an English vs non English problem.

All of the Updates have appeared on Dell UK within a couple of days of the US release.

mickeire, be aware that once in New York, there is no storefront where you can just go to buy the Axim. It needs to be ordered and shipped to an address that matches the billing address of the credit card used. If you know your NY address, you should order it before you leave to ensure sufficient shipping time. You might also need to add a secondary NY address to your CC account if you will be paying by your own CC.

What does it mean? I leave in France and (hope) receive my PDA soon; Should I be able to connect my PDA on my personal wifi router?

The European models support 13( i think) channels for wifi. The American ones support (10?). So it should work. Unless your router is set to use one of the missing channels. If it is you should be able to change it. It's unlikely that it will cause you problems though
