If I'm in the wrong forum, feel free to move.
I am frustrated beyond belief. ActiveSynch will NOT recognize my Axim is in the cradle.
Yes - the cables are connected and the stupid thing has AC power.
What did I do? I started the (Audible.com) Audible Manager installation on my XP(HE) box. When it said, put your Axim in the cradle I did, and nothing.
Troubleshooting steps taken -
1. Cancelled Audible Mgr. Install, rebooted pc
2. Tried Axim in cradle. No go.
3. Uninstalled Audible Mgr.
4. Tried Axim in cradle. No go.
5. Stepped through all M$FT ActiveSynch troubleshooting tools.
6. Tried Axim in cradle. No go.
7. "Repaired" ActiveSynch Install from Dell cd (4.0)
8.Tried Axim in cradle. No go.
9. Uninstalled ActiveSynch. Clean cd install (I have probably screwed myself here)
10. Tried Axim in cradle. No go.
11. Upgraded to Active Synch 4.1
12. Tried Axim in cradle. No go.
Are we detecting a pattern here?
Just to be clear, ActiveSynch cannot "see" the Axim. The PC does - it dadongs (you know, that USB alert) when I put it in the cradle. There is also a systray notice that says, "Dell Axim."
Since it is not working, I am paying more attention - the systray also shows a network connection attempt I've never noticed before - and that fails.
I need help getting ActiveSynch working again - I don't care which version - any synch would be nice.
Then I need advice on how to get my AudioBooks from Audible in a way that won't blow it up again - I do have iTunes. It came on the box. I am clueless on how to use it. Ultimately, I want to be able to listen to my audiobooks on my PC and the Axim (from a CF card).
I just hate Mondays. :rolling: Hoping Tuesday will be better.
