Moving the My Documents folder to a SD card?

How do I move the My Documents folder to an SD card? I know that I can move it using the File Explorer, but is that all there is to it? or do I have to tell WM5 that I have moved it and where to find it.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Does software designed for older versions of mobile windows run under WM5?

You could just move the folder, but when most programs go to save they will still want to use the my documents folder in main memory. About older programs, some may give you trouble, others will run fine. Good advice would be to backup your data using data backup before you install any pprograms you think may not work.

There is a registry tweak which will allow you to change where the system "my documents" folder resides, including storage cards. I believe Tweak 2K2 has it. Search the forums for more information.

Create a folder named My Documents in your SD Card. Deleted the file named Ignore_myDocs in the card to allow you to use it. Move all files you want to the new locations. When you open programs it will look there too for your files so you can open then from there.

The Audible files I download automatically sync to my Compact Flash card. Is the SD card the smaller slot?

Yes SD is the smaller slot

The folder my Documents is a standard windows folder and if it is deleted I would expect problems from programs that expect it to be there. Yeah its probably bad programming practice to "hard code" such a thing, but there are a lot of bad programmers out there.
