None of the Pocket PC's are USB compliant in that they cannot be USB 'hosts'.
They use USB for sync only and perhaps a few other limited uses. It does not function as a USB port on your desktop.
Somebody please correct me if I am wrong or provide a clearer explaination

Actually, the Dell is "compliant" but it is as a Device, not a Host. There are differences in the two. Hosts provide the logic, control the interface and provide the power (100 mA minimum/500 mA maximum at 5.5V) for the interface, Devices follow the Host directions, provide no logic and no power (but can draw up to 100 mA of power from the Host). So, you can connect the Dell to a Host (Laptop, desktop, etc) but not to a Device (anything else you might connect to a Host -- printers, scanners, other peripherals, etc).
The only PPC Host is the Toshiba E740, and it has to have the adapter cradle accessory to provide that capability.
