Youthemandan,

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking if the Axim's cradle will work with both usb standards, 2.0 and 1.1?? The answer is 'yes' it should work with either type.

The previous reply is correct, but not sure it answered your question

As I understand it...

None of the Pocket PC's are USB compliant in that they cannot be USB 'hosts'.

They use USB for sync only and perhaps a few other limited uses. It does not function as a USB port on your desktop.

Somebody please correct me if I am wrong or provide a clearer explaination

I believe it is 1.1, as 2.0 costs more to implement.

As a general rule of thumb - If the USB 2.0 flag is not being waved, assume it is 1.1

Still - a typical throughput of about 4Mbps is a lot faster than 115Kbps serial

Actually, the Dell is "compliant" but it is as a Device, not a Host. There are differences in the two. Hosts provide the logic, control the interface and provide the power (100 mA minimum/500 mA maximum at 5.5V) for the interface, Devices follow the Host directions, provide no logic and no power (but can draw up to 100 mA of power from the Host). So, you can connect the Dell to a Host (Laptop, desktop, etc) but not to a Device (anything else you might connect to a Host -- printers, scanners, other peripherals, etc).

The only PPC Host is the Toshiba E740, and it has to have the adapter cradle accessory to provide that capability.
