Does anyone know if you can assign icons to folders? I'm using the donateware "Launcher" from Scott Seligman http://www.scottandmichelle.net/scott/cestuff.html and like it better than others. I can put a folders in Launcher but they all look the same. Emailing the author has been futile.

What, exactly, does adding folders to Launcher accomplish?

I don't think there's a way to assign specific icons to individual folders.

Instead of putting the actual file in the launcher folder try putting just a shortcut for your file into the folder. I have done this with games I have on my SD card. It works great and I get the icons that were created for each game :)

That is exactly the way I use it Cheryl. It saves real estate on your Today screen but all the folders look identical.
I just received an email from the author and folder icons are on his "to do" list.

I have this problem w/ the doc shortcuts I have on my screen looking all the same.
It's a brute-force fix, but if you make a background image to suit, you can label the icons just below where they show up ... written on the wallpaper.
It works 'till you change something icon-wise, then they won't line up anymore.

Ah... I didn't realize one could set up subfolders in Launcher. Kinda handy.

Definitely put shortcuts, rather than actual apps, into Launcher's folder. Saves on duplication of space-eating executables.
