Best "Desktop" Music Player Substitute for the Windows Media Player

Is there a better Music/Media Player for the Desktop than the standard Windows Media Player?

I personally find the user interface and ability to sync from the Windows Media Player to be confusing and unituitive.

Is there either:

1. A great tutorial for basic use of the Windows Media Player and how to sync from there without duplicating syncs already on the list within the Player, (maybe I'm just "not getting" the basic concept of that program)

OR

2. A more straightforward, more intuitive player that simplifies synching beyond what the Windows Player provides :approve:

I heard the the WinAmp Player is a touch better.

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.:nw:

I spent some time on the Winamp site. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of synch support - I went through the Winamp Player on-line tutorial and help screens and under the words "synch" "synchronize" "portable" "device" "download", I didn't see a thing. What I did see on their forum was a severe-sounding synch issue with their lastest upgrade version that appears to wipe out gigs of iPod music files, or duplicates files at random when synched.

This duplication of files is exactly what I am experiencing on the Windows Media player. I'm not understanding why the synch programs don't recognize existing duplicate files and at least provide the option of replacing them vs duplicating.
