I downloaded a 45 mb MPEG file on to my axim, but it's showing as an unrecognized file and I can't play it. It plays fine with Windows Media Player on my PC? What do I need to do to watch videos on my Axim? :rolling:

It depends on what type of video it is. I recommend converting whatever file type it is to .avi Then with dr. divx from www.divx.com encode the .avi file. Use Pocket MVP to play it. When you encode, it, it also makes the video size smaller. I encoded 2gb, yes gb, .avi file to 20mb

There are two apps you can load that will play this. Do a search on this site for PocketTV and PocketMVP. Both are freeware for personal use. Both will likely have problems with this raw .mpeg file, but will play them.

To get proper playback go to the Multimedia forum and read the pinned posts re: re-encoding video files. Just get the software and follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

You'll also probably knock a 45MB Mpeg1 file down to about 5 MB .avi file.
