Aximsitewifiicon WIFI Hotspots

Hi,

Have searched and read wifi stickey but can't find answer to my exact problem. My query relates to connecting to hotspots, either free or on credit card charge. I rarely, if ever manage to connect. If I do, it never lasts past one or two pages.

I don't use remote access to any network at home or in work, but would love to be able to have internet access when travelling. I've tried playing with various of the connections but still no result. I have left the 'proxy setttings' unticked as per a previous advice.

Message is always either "Cannot connect with current connection settings" or "Unable to load current page"

I have an X50v. Would really appreciate your help.

Orlaigh.

You should be able to connect for long periods of time with no problem. One thing you should read is this. The basic facts are that you should set up the wifi once in just a couple clicks, then you should be able to connect all the time with ease.

I am far from an expert, but in my opinion it should be as easy as connecting on the desktop. The Odyssey Client, while I'm not sure how it works, seems to work in the background to make things happen, so keep that in mind. I just use IE and don't do anything fancy.

If you have trouble after reading the Wifi guide, let us know.

Thanks for your reply, Steve. I did read the guide, as best I could, as I am not a techie. However, it appears to be more geared to setting up remote access to existing home/work networks. I found it very hard to understand, and certainly not what you describe as setting up wifi in just a couple of clicks.

If it is just a couple of clicks, could you please describe these to me?

TIA,

Orlaigh.
